The objective of this project was to redesign a pedestrian food item into a gourmet style product. In this case, El Guapo was the chosen brand in the spices category. The main question was, “How will this spice brand stand out on store shelves.” I wanted the packing to call back to the Mexican culture in which it’s inspired, hence tequila bottles where chosen as the unorthodox container due to their distinctive shapes. From there, each spice label became color-coded and redesigned with Mexican-inspired motifs in mind.
